George Edwards, a longtime resident of Haines, leads us off today with a story of friendship and loss. His 23 year old nephew, Elvis Salyers, was killed by a drunk driver outside of Big Lake in June 2001 while he was driving home from his job at Wal-Mart. George reminisces about Elvis throughout his life and the circumstances that led to his untimely death. This diary was aired on KHNS on November 15th and 18th, 2006.
