"Coming together is a beginning.
Keeping together is progress.
Working together is success."
~Henry Ford

The Voices Project is made possible through a partnership for a Nation of Learners Community Collaboration Grant. The Partnership for a Nation of Learners is a joint project of the Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS) and the Corporation for Public Broadcasting (CPB). Through this program, libraries museums and public broadcasters are encouraged to work together to address local needs, increase civic engagement and improve the quality of life in their communities.

The Voices Project relies heavily on partnership and collaboration. The Haines Borough Public Library, Lynn Canal Broadcasting, a growing list of collaborators and the community are reaping the awards of working together. Each participating entity brings resources and expertise to the project to more effectively serve patrons, clients and the community as a whole. In so many way, the success of the Voices Project correlates to the dialogue, sharing and participation of the partners, collaborators and project participants.

As the project matures new cooperative efforts are emerging. By working together to inform and educate members of the community on the impacts of drug and alcohol abuse amazing things are happening. The creativity and genuine commitment from so many is resulting in a program that is contributing to open discussion of a community problem and helping to fulfill individual lives.
