One of the fundamental ways people learn and create understanding is by telling stories. Exchanging stories with each other and with the community is what the Voices Project is all about.

As part of the Voices Project, anyone in the community is invited to learn how to use sound recording and editing technology at the library to tell their stories. Or they can choose to learn the technology to help give voice to the stories of others.

But telling stories of how our lives are affected by drug and alcohol abuse will not be easy. It will take understanding, not only to share our stories but also to hear them. Because hearing how a person's life is affected by substance abuse may not be easy, but it is very important.

It will take patience.
It will take courage.

But one voice can make all the difference.
